The concepts explained in the contract law chapter allow students to grasp important ideas about the creation and execution of contracts: knowledge that will help them in everything from getting their first job to understanding business practices.

The contract law chapter gives students an opportunity to review and analyze actual contracts, in addition to teaching these concepts:

• How contracts are interpreted and how to avoid common contract difficulties;
• How a person is bound by the terms of a contract and why it is so very important to know and understand all aspects of the contract;
• What the differences are between enforceable and non-enforceable contracts; and
• What remedies are available to people who have entered into contracts or agreements that are problematic for one reason or another?
