1. How do you think Lacey D’s situation with copyright violation differs from a more well-established artist like Pearl Jam?  Do you think people would have more or less empathy for Pearl Jam?  Why?  Do you think the laws should be different for new artists than for older artists?  How could this type of arrangement be set up to be fair for everyone?

 

2. What are other issues at hand with the sharing of music other than monetary repercussions?  Which issue do you find most important and why?

 

3. Why do you think people are less concerned with violating copyright when it comes to downloading or copying music?  Do you find people tolerable to copying books or paintings?  Why or why not?
